We’ve been taking Manuka Honey since 2011.  Before little Izzy arrived, my hubby and I used to work 14 to 16 hours a day – for over two years. More hours during peak season! It was our very first entrepreneurial endeavor together, after we came back from our African stint. We were determined to make it work and be our own bosses.

We normally would ingress for a bazaar at 4/5am (so we’re awake and prepping by 3/4am) and would close at 9/10pm or 12/1pm if the selling event is until midnight. We always arrive first and leave later than all our employees. We believe in leading by example! Since these were mostly selling events, we would talk – – – all day looooong. If not talking to customers, we would be talking to our fellow entrepreneurs, developing our network and trying to glean some valuable insights about the Philippine market and buying behaviors of Filipinos.

Entrepreneurship is so much different FROM reading and theoretically learning about it, THAN being on the ground, hands-on and actually doing it! After a full day on our feet and a full day of talking, we would usually feel so tired and out-of-sorts. We would take a spoonful of Manuka Honey MGO 400. If we have cough, colds, fever or sore throat, we’d take a spoonful too.

The cure is often overnight for us. We are ok and feeling better the next day. It was so effective that we used it as daily maintenance instead of taking regular vitamins. We always believed in “prevention is worth a pound of cure.” And we believe in natural remedies more than drugs.

I stopped taking it later on in my pregnancy as I have read so many articles that honey is not good for developing babies. The opinions and articles were highly varied. Some says it is totally ok. Some says it is not. But since the medical community cannot 100% confirm if it is ok or not – I opted not to take it. I just cannot take the risks with our first baby. With Baby No. 2 on the way now, I am researching again if there are new insights.

We have recommended Manuka Honey products to so many friends and used it as gifts for various occasions. We believe in giving healthy gifts and promoting healthy lifestyle.

Manuka Honey and Bee Healthy have also built a very solid following within the Filipino-Chinese communities all around the country. They have grown by positive word-of-mouth, which is a true testament to the effectiveness of their products.

mgo400

“MGO™400+ Manuka Honey contains at least 400mg of Methylglyoxal for every kg. The NPA/UMF equivalent of MGO™400+ Manuka Honey is 20+ and is primarily recommended for heavy sore throats, coughs, colds, & flu. The product is good for heavy (3rd degree) burns, heavy wounds, & skin infections. MGO™400+ is stronger than antibiotics. MGO™ Manuka Honey is labelled based on the minimum Methylglyoxal content (mg/kg) it contains. As Methylglyoxal is the active compound directly responsible for the antibacterial activity of Manuka honey, the higher the Methylglyoxal content of MGO™ Manuka Honey, the stronger the antibacterial activity.” Source: http://manukahealth.ph/mgo400-manuka-honey/

From being sold mainly in bazaars, they now have their own brick-and-mortar store in BGC (1-D Kensington Place 1st Ave. Burgos Circle Bonifacio Global City, 1634 Taguig), and kiosk outlets in Ayala Center Davao, Ayala Center Cebu, and Robinsons Magnolia. They have been featured consistently in numerous major publications.
Bee Healthy is also not just a company selling great products. Its commitment to its employees was set on a very high standards from the beginning. It is worth to mention that they sponsor their employees to finish education. I am very happy to see pioneer employees from 2011 still working there until now. From being Sales Ladies, now as Supervisors and Managers. The owners’ values are intact and it is cascading down to their service to clients and treatment of their employees. I like supporting Companies with values and integrity!
