Note: This is not a product endorsement. I bought Izzy’s pair. Really happy with it.
Finding the first walking shoes can be really tricky. In our case, we’ve tried to be thrifty about it knowing that our daughter’s cute little feet would grow fast. So we tried avoiding branded and expensive baby shoes, and settled for the generic ones.
We’ve tried so many shoes! 300peso shoes from Greenhills, 600peso shoes from various baby stores, a few more shoes from department stores. Izzy’s feet would always slip or slide when walking. One time she was running and she fell flat on her face. My heart stopped and I was stunned for several seconds after hearing the loud thud before I finally moved and ran to her. Her forehead hit the floor really hard. It was so red when I reached down to pick her up. She never cried that loud before, which means she really got hurt. As soon as she stopped crying I immediately searched the net regarding first aids. I scolded myself for scrimping on my daughter. I was reminded of the hard lesson that “you get what you pay for.” If something happens to her I can never forgive myself.
For a couple of months after that incident she stopped walking by herself. She got scared. When I try to put her on the floor, she would walk, but only if both her hands are holding both my hands. She would usually end-up just hugging my leg whimpering. She got scared to venture on her own.
Got Izzy’s pair from their pop-stop store in Karl Edwards Bazaar.
At first she just played with it instead of wear it
It’s almost 2,000pesos. I should have gotten a good walking shoes at the very start. Counting all the pairs I got amounted to almost 4,000pesos. (Sigh!) I’m not a branded-kind-of-mom but I really want excellent QUALITY. Before I purchase anything for Izzy, I would always think how long would she use it, how often, would it last, would it be good or healthy for her. I also like sticking to basics that can be paired with her other stuff. So if I buy something pricey and if she can use it for six months or one year, regularly, then it’ll be worth the purchase!
In the case of Izzy’s Walnut shoes, she’s been using it every single time we go out of the house. It’s her only walking shoes. She got her confidence back with her Walnut shoes. It doesn’t slip when she walks. It doesn’t trip when she runs. She learned to walk in her Walnut shoes! Yey!!! Thus we called it her “CONFIDENCE” shoes.
She uses it in all her bazaars
She uses it when we go to malls

She goes everywhere in her Walnut a.k.a. Confidence shoes. We got our money’s worth! For me, it’s about watching my daughter get her confidence back, then walk and finally run, which is the best thing I got from purchasing this shoes. Not to mention the softness, the traction it creates when Izzy walks or run. It’s also the peace of mind knowing that the shoes will hold, will not slip and will not skid. I can finally put that incident, of Izzy falling flat on her face, hitting her forehead on the floor so hard, behind me. Finally I can forgive myself for that fall.
Thanks Walnut guys for bringing this brand here!
